In-Person in Seattle + Virtual Across Washington

Welcome!

I’m Corey (identify as he/him), and I’m a marriage and family therapy associate based in Seattle, WA. I’ve been working in the mental health field for several years and am happy to make my new home in the Pacific northwest the place I can start my career. Often I find myself resonating in a therapeutic space with individuals who know what they are looking to achieve in therapy, or are open to experiencing positive change in their lives.

My hope is that if you decide to seek healing or growth through therapy and our paths cross in that journey, you’ll find safety, respect, courage and vulnerability present in every session we have together.

My Style.

Going through therapy with me is a process I look to make as comfortable as possible, given the difficult nature of the work being done. I offer patience and open mindedness to my clients with the understanding that everyone has their own pace and direction to take that’s most beneficial for them. Everybody’s an expert on themselves, and you’ll rarely find me acting like I know what’s best for your life. I’m simply a person who went to school to learn some things and see the world with the intention that the knowledge might be beneficial to others. With me specifically, therapy may include behaviora approaches (CBT, DBT, ACT) along with others that focus on relationships you have with others and possibly even yourself (Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Adlerian psychology).

The focus will always be to approach therapy with clients in a way that they feel they can collaborate and have a voice with me on how their treatment can take shape.

Corey provides LGBTQ+ affirming therapy in Seattle and throughout Washington State for queer, gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse clients.

His experiences within LGBTQ+ communities informs his understanding of how identity, belonging, relationships, family, discrimination, and broader systems can affect mental health.

The goal isn’t to make assumptions about your experience because you’re LGBTQ+.

It’s to create enough room for your whole experience to matter.

Corey provides couples and family therapy in Seattle and virtually across Washington for people navigating relationship conflict, communication difficulties, trauma, identity, family dynamics, and major transitions.

Rather than simply deciding who is right or wrong, Corey helps people slow down and understand the patterns happening within their relationships.

Together, you can work toward healthier communication, greater understanding, stronger boundaries, and more connected ways of relating to one another.

Corey provides individual therapy for teens and adults in Seattle and online across Washington navigating anxiety, trauma, difficult emotions, identity, relationships, stress, and life transitions.

Together, you may work on understanding thought and emotional patterns, developing healthier coping strategies, strengthening communication, exploring identity, or building healthier relationships with yourself and others.

Corey has a range of experience within LGBTQ+ communities that informs his understanding of how identity, belonging, relationships, family, discrimination, and broader systems can affect mental health.

Therapy can provide room to explore identity, gender, sexuality, anxiety, trauma, relationships, belonging, family dynamics, and life transitions without having to minimize or repeatedly explain important parts of who you are.

The goal isn’t to make assumptions about your experience because you’re LGBTQ+. It’s to create enough room for your whole experience to matter.

What Therapy With Corey Can Look Like.

Therapy can ask us to talk about things that aren’t always easy to put into words. Corey works to make that process feel as comfortable and collaborative as possible.

He brings patience, curiosity, openness, and a healthy respect for the fact that people move at different paces.

You won’t find Corey positioning himself as the person who knows what’s best for your life. Instead, therapy is a collaborative process where you can explore what you’re experiencing, better understand your thoughts and emotions, recognize patterns, and decide what meaningful change looks like for you.

Depending on your needs and goals, Corey may draw from approaches including:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Exploring connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and developing more helpful ways of responding.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-Informed Skills
Building tools for navigating difficult emotions, distress, relationships, and communication.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Making room for difficult internal experiences while identifying values and moving toward a life that feels more meaningful.

Narrative Therapy
Exploring the stories you’ve learned about yourself and creating space for perspectives that better reflect who you are and who you’re becoming.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)-Informed Work
Approaching the different parts of yourself with greater curiosity, understanding, and compassion.

Relational + Family Systems Approaches
Looking beyond symptoms to understand how relationships, families, identities, and larger systems influence how we experience ourselves and others.
